Abstract & Objectives

The project develops, based on a rigorous analysis we have achieved, new solutions and designing methods for scanners with rotating elements (polygon and monogon), respectively oscillatory (galvanometric). The designing calculus that is going to be developed using this analysis aims for the achievement of polygon scanners with simpler (therefore with lower costs) lens than the existing ones. The rotating element of the scanner is designed correlated with its lens, in order to compensate some of the essential sources of errors of the polygon. A particular case approached is the one of monogon scanners. Regarding the main classes of applications approached in the project, the dimensional measurements will be considered, as well as the polygon-based scanning filters for SS (swept source) OCT (optical coherence tomography), a hot topic for the optics community. In the domain of the galvanometer scanners we are working on a solution with an enhanced duty cycle (of up to 85-90%, with regard to 70%, the maximum value reached in present devices). Both 1-D (uni-dimensional) and a 2-D (bi-dimensional) devices will be studied, the latter one both for industrial applications (e.g., marking, welding), and for special ones, e.g. for the scanning modulus of confocal microscopes or for precise lateral scanning in OCT.

Rezumat & Obiective

Proiectul dezvolta, pe baza unor analize riguroase pe care le-am realizat, noi solutii de scanere rotitoare (poligon si monogon), respectiv oscilante (galvanometrice). Sinteza (calculul de proiectare) care urmeaza a fi dezvoltat pe baza acestor analize urmareste realizarea unor scanere poligonale dotate cu sisteme refractante mai simple, deci mai economice, decat cele actuale. Se proiecteaza in acest scop partea rotitoare a scanerului conjugat cu sistemul lenticular. Un caz particular abordat este cel al scanerului monogon: oglinda plana rotitoare, utilizat in special in sistemul de orientare al robotilor mobili. Ca aplicatii, sunt considerate atat sistemele de scanare pentru masuratori dimensionale, cu multiple domenii de utilizare, cat si filtrul cu scaner poligonal pentru swept source OCT (optical coherence tomography – tomografie optica de coerenta cu sursa laser scanata in frecventa), tema extrem de actuala pe plan mondial. Se cauta din punct de vedere al scanerelor galvanometrice realizarea unei solutii cu grad de acoperire ridicat (de 85-90%, fata de 70%, maxima atinsa actual), atat in configuratie 1-D (uni-dimensionala), cat si 2-D (bi-dimensionala), aceasta din urma atat cu aplicatii industriale (gravare, sudare, lipire), cat si pentru aplicatii mai speciale, cum este modulul de scanare al microscoapelor confocale sau realizarea unei scanari de precizie aprobei in OCT.
